title : Atlanta, GA

3 night getaway at Hilton in Atlanta, renowned for it's hospitable residents (it's true!) and.....to be honest we chose to go because it's the only real city that's of driving distance and where Single Ladies is supposedly based in.

It was odd to see Asia serving as the backdrop of the IKEA display rooms. Dirty rivers? Bamboo poles? Tiny apartment blocks painted in awkward, clashing colors? Hell yeah!

Day 2 at the Georgia Aquarium was every bit of amazing. The place itself is huge in size (and well designed), and has little "petting areas" where you can pet stingrays, baby sharks and starfishes. The aquarium also holds more than 500 species of sea creatures--some of which includes the beluga whale, the whale shark, the manta ray and the piranha.
Technicalities aside, I had my eyes transfixed on that one gigantic tank for so long that I'm surprised I didn't turn into stone. If there was a blue whale and a couple of great whites I'm sure I'd have died from being overly enthralled.

The highlight of the next day was getting to sample 64 different fizzy drinks produced by the Coca Cola company before clearing out my bank account at f21.

En route home (after 3 nights' worth of bubble baths, cable tv and rolling around queen sized beds) we stopped for froyo, visited a little art gallery and had a long chat with its owner about how his family is blessed with the artist gene, and how painting is only a hobby that he happens to make extra money out of.
I've always hoped to be the kind of person who can spend half a day just sipping coffee and enjoying meaningful conversations with people I don't know, but in reality every time I stop to listen to someone I get this nagging feeling that I have to be somewhere else doing something more important than chatting idly (and being completely unproductive monetary wise,) and so I always make up reasons to excuse myself before walking away feeling extremely awkward and uncomfortable.

And so now I'm home with S, having a heated argument about relationships.
6 months into being here and she's had 2 men declare their love for her already. (You'll never hear the end of it from me)
